Med Tech/Personal Care Aide

The primary function of this position is to assist the Charge Nurse/Shift Leader in the provision of nursing care, PASSING MEDS and related services for all residents under their assigned area and in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines, standards and regulations. This position receives guidance and direction from the Charge Nurse/Shift Leader and/or Personal Care Administrator.

 

We currently have PART TIME opportunities on the AFTERNOON shift (1:30PM to 10:00PM)

EDUCATION & TRAINING

A high school diploma or GED equivalent
is required for this position. A copy of the
diploma/GED must be presented prior to
starting work as a Personal Care Aide.

TOP AREAS OF FOCUS FOR OUR MED TECH / PCAs

  • Med Tech will Pass Meds, Assists residents in all activities of daily living including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, nutritional needs, transferring, ambulation, continence and oral hygiene.

  • Responds to all resident call bells and requests for assistance, regardless of assignment.

  • Uses proper infection control techniques to prevent the spread of diseases.

  • Observes residents and reports changes of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and emotional conditions to the Charge Nurse/Shift Leader.

  • Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.

  • Adheres to, upholds and enforces all facility policies and procedures.

  • Completes documentation regarding care and services rendered.

  • Performs various cleaning duties as directed.

  • Actively participates in department meetings, education programs, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information.

  • Always exhibit a high-level of professionalism and focus on customer service.

  • Works within a team concept and is cooperative with co-workers and peers.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands include the ability to walk extensively, sit for extended periods of time and bend, lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds frequently. Full list of physical requirements available upon request.
